Part two — Release. Removing protection, transition to a state of defenselessness. Long exposure captures the movement process, visually referring to dreams.
Part one — fixation. Isolation as a defense mechanism. 13-meter seat belt to be sure of protection. Being strapped to a chair in an uncomfortable position with a very long belt as an absurd act. However, the need for mental protection at the physical level.
Repression — a defense mechanism through which the psyche unconsciously removes unpleasant or traumatic thoughts, memories, or desires from consciousness into the unconscious.
Suppression — a conscious effort to restrain or ignore unwanted emotions, thoughts, or impulses that remain accessible to awareness.
Anticathexis is a process in psychoanalysis in which ideas and thoughts that have been suppressed and repressed, are constantly striving to return to consciousness. They are prevented from doing so by an equal force acting in the opposite direction. It was first postulated in 1900 by S. Freud in his book "The Interpretation of Dreams" and was subsequently used to explain the work of defense mechanisms.
I noticed that this process sounds like Newton’s third law: for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Thinking about defense mechanisms in the psyche, I look for ways to artistically interpret this process.

Part three — Traces. My whole body was covered in scratches and grazes. The trauma inevitably manifests itself. Traces of interaction with the belt remain on the body as a sign of an attempt to return the repressed.
